The CAR™ 27, NiTi's endoluminal device, utilizes a shape memory Nitinol ring that is expelled from the body after the circular homogeneous Compression Anastomosis is achieved. By relying on Compression Anastomosis, followed by natural expulsion of the
CAR™ 27 ring from the body, the CAR™ 27 eliminates the presence of permanent implants, such as stapling elements, at the anastomosis site. Thus, the undesired foreign body reaction, which is usually associated with stapled anastomosis is eliminated. The CAR™ 27 is ergonomically designed for anastomoses throughout the alimentary tract for the creation of end-to-end, and end-to-side anastomoses in both open and laparoscopic surgeries. The CAR™ 27 is a sterile, single patient, single use device, and is CE-marked and FDA-cleared.
