Dr. Hadar Ron - Chairman
Dr. Hadar Ron, Managing Director of Israel Healthcare Ventures, Ltd. (IHCV), a Venture Capital Fund focused on investing in Israeli and Israel related companies in the field of medical devices, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical-related IT. Dr. Ron is a physician and attorney by background. She has extensive medical, legal and management experience gained in senior positions in a range of insurances companies, law firms, medical and educational institutions. Her legal and management expertise includes venture capital consulting, medical malpractice, general and medical insurance and legal practice. In the medical field, Dr. Ron has spearheaded several research initiatives and has developed and taught courses on medical law. Dr. Ron is closely familiar with the field of development of medical products, the processes associated with their approval by relevant authorities and marketing to customers, and the steps required of developing companies for achieving their business objectives. She is an experienced member of boards of directors of numerous medical companies. Dr. Ron holds MD and LLB degrees from Tel Aviv University and has studied at the School of Business Administration at Tel Aviv University and in advanced courses at Boston University School of Medicine.
Itay Itzhaky - CEO
Mr. Itay Itzhaky brings over 20 years of managerial experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry in Israel. He served 7 years at Teva Pharmaceuticals in senior operational positions, managing generic and innovative drug-development operations. Mr. Itzhaky was VP of business development at Promedico, the largest drug importer in Israel (representing Novartis, Pfizer, Abbott etc.). In this capacity, he founded and managed start-up subsidiaries in the medical device and pharmaceutical fields. Mr. Itzhaky was CEO of Eldan Electronic instruments, representing medical device and life science companies such as Hewlett-Packard (Agilent), Amersham Pharmacia Biotech etc. In the past 6 years, Mr. Itzhaky was CEO of ColBar, a biomaterials company (acquired by Johnson & Johnson). Itay holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Beer Sheva University and an MBA from Bar Ilan University.
Eitan Nahum
Mr. Eitan Nahum is actively involved as an investor and serves on the board of several international, medical and IT companies. Mr. Nahum was VP Strategic Planning and Business Development of U.S. Surgical Corporation, a $1.4 billion medical company, where he led investments of over $700 million in mergers and acquisitions, expanding it into new market segments such as cardiology, cardiovascular, spinal surgery and electrocautery. Formerly he was a co-founder and the CEO of Radiancy Inc. He was President and CEO of Bogen Communication International Inc., which he took public. He also served as the President of Sharplan Lasers Inc., which he successfully turned around to become a market leader in the laser aesthetic market. Prior to that, he held various executive positions at Laser Industries. Mr. Nahum holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Management and Industrial Engineering, focused on Business Entrepreneurship, from the Technion, Israel’s premier institute of technology.
Jeff Dykan
Mr. Jeff Dykan has years of experience working in senior management positions with top global companies, such as Applied Materials, VocalTec, BitBand, Opal and Andersen Consulting. He is also very experienced with VC's, IPO's and M&A, having spent most of his career in finance, business development and general management of global companies during challenging business cycles. Mr. Dykan offers portfolio companies the benefit of his expert analysis of the company and the market potential - as well as his hands-on experience and global network of connections in the financial community.Mr. Dykan is Chairman of Trig Medical and serves on board of directors of Deep Breeze, Quantomix , BetaO2 ,GeneGrafts, ColBar ,FDCardio and the Technion Incubator.
John Gonzalez
Mr. John Gonzalez studied medicine in England and worked as a physician for five years before moving to a Californian start up developing software for medical applications. Subsequently he earned an MBA from the London Business School and went to work for Smithkline Beecham. Before joining Alice Ventures, he was responsible for commercial development in European markets for PowderJect Pharmaceuticals, a new generation life sciences company specializing in drug delivery.
Dr. Ronit Bendori
Dr. Ronit Bendori joined Evergreen in mid 2000 as a General Partner. She focuses on Evergreen's investments in the healthcare sector. Dr. Bendori is a former Vice President and QA/QC Director of Pharmos Ltd. (NASDAQ: PARS). Prior to that Dr. Bendori held senior positions as an expert in technology transfer at InterPharm Ltd. (Israel) and Ares-Serono (Switzerland). As one of its most experienced figures, Dr. Bendori is an active promoter of Israeli health care industry. She was one of the founders of the Israeli Biotechnology Organization (IBO), and an adviser to the former Chief Scientists at the Israeli Ministry of Industry and Trade on biotechnology issues. Currently, she is a member of the National Committee for Biotechnology and a member of the advisory board of the Israeli Scientific American. Dr. Bendori has taught biotechnology in various institutions, including the
Israeli
Center for Management and Weizmann Institute of Science. She has a Ph.D in molecular and cellular biology from the Weizmann Institute of Science. Dr. Bendori represents Evergreen on the boards of Procognia, Transpharma, Quantomix, CorAssist and Neurosonix.
